Record Flirt4Free with CaptureGem

CaptureGem saves public Flirt4Free shows from the desktop app on Windows, macOS and Linux, and you don’t need a Flirt4Free account.
Before you start
Download CaptureGem for Windows, macOS or Linux and open the desktop app. Use the latest version for the most recent Flirt4Free fixes.
What to paste or type
Flirt4Free puts the model’s name in the room address after ?model=, for example https://www.flirt4free.com/?model=model-name. Names are lowercase with hyphens between words, and CaptureGem needs the name exactly as it appears there: model-name works, while Model Name or Model-Name doesn’t.
Add the stream
- Open the Record tab in CaptureGem.
- Paste a link that contains
?model=into Enter URL or Username in the Add Stream panel. CaptureGem selects Flirt4Free and reads the name from the link. You can also choose Flirt4Free under Select Website and type the name. Other Flirt4Free links don’t include the name, so type it rather than pasting one of those. - Leave Monitor Only switched off. With it on, CaptureGem only watches the stream and doesn’t save a video.
- Click Add Stream.
What the status means
When the model is in a public show, the row moves to Recording once CaptureGem has connected to the room. Flirt4Free takes a few more steps than most sites, so this can take a little longer. Otherwise you’ll see one of these:
- Offline: the model’s room isn’t open to the public.
- Errored with “username not found or offline”: CaptureGem looks Flirt4Free models up in the site’s list of live models, so it can’t find someone who is offline or whose name is misspelled.
Hover over a status to see more detail, including the reason behind an Errored status.
Free version or Premium
On the free version, each recording is saved for up to 5 minutes and you can add up to 10 models. Recording only starts if the model is live when you add or start them, so if they were offline, start the recording again once they’re back. Premium removes both limits and adds auto-record: select the model on the Record tab, open Modify Auto Record under Actions and choose Record Always. From then on CaptureGem records whenever the model comes online and starts again after a disconnect. Turning on Auto Record All Newly Added Models in Settings does the same for every model you add later. Live previews of everything that’s recording are on the Monitor tab.
Where the recording goes
After a recording stops, CaptureGem converts it into a video file, which can take a while for a long session. The Review tab lets you play, trim, tag or delete it, and Open Video Folder on the Record tab opens the folder that holds your files. Recordings are MP4 files by default. With Premium, each file runs up to 60 minutes by default and auto-record continues straight into the next one. The save folder, the file length (Cap Video Segments at Duration (Minutes)) and the container format are all in Settings; the settings overview on capturegem.com explains each option.
Flirt4Free notes and troubleshooting
- Name not found: confirm the model is live and the name matches the
?model=part of the room address exactly. A pasted link without?model=creates an entry calledunknown-model; delete it and type the name. - Slow connections: CaptureGem looks the model up, joins the room’s chat and then asks for the video, all within Network Timeout (Seconds) in Settings > Advanced Settings. A higher timeout gives these steps more time on a slow connection.
- “Checking your browser” page: CaptureGem gets past Flirt4Free’s browser check on its own.
- Quality: set a lower Flirt4Free limit under Max Resolution Per Site in Advanced Settings to save bandwidth and disk space.
- Private shows: Flirt4Free has no separate Private status in CaptureGem, and only public shows are recorded.
